Outgoing Ferrari driver Felipe Massa has showered praise on his current team Fernando Alonso, describing the former two time Drivers’ World Championship winner as arguably the most complete article he has had in his eight years at the team.
The Brazilian confirmed recently that he will be leaving the Italian giants at the end of the current season after eight years at the Scuderia based team to make way for the return of Kimi Raikkonen, who was his team mate for two years as well.
Not only Raikkonen and Alonso, the 32 has also raced alongside the legendary former seven time world champion Michael Schumacher for a season in his rookie year at the team in 2006 and having raced alongside three former world champions, the Brazilian rates his partner of last four years Alonso as the most complete he has had during his time at Ferrari, rating him even ahead of the legendary German.
Speaking to an English media outlet, Massa stated that he has always had teammates who have been very strong and added that he has learnt that he needed to be perfect because if there was one flaw in his technique, these great drivers would be ahead of him. He admitted he has had tough times with his teammates but stated that the one he suffered most against was Alonso, mentioning that he is the more complete driver of the three.
Massa stated that Schumacher was very good, there is no doubt about it and was a complete driver as well but when it comes to perfection, his teammate for the last three years comes very close to being absolutely perfect in every sense of the term.
And although he is leaving Ferrari, the Brazilian wished Alonso all the best for his future endeavors and added that he hopes he wins the title again.
